The guitar originated in the 16th century in Spain, when it originally had 6 strings. Strumming or plucking the strings will produce sounds from the guitar which will enable you to play music. The acoustic guitar is a non-electric guitar where the body of the guitar vibrates to produce the sound and the sound is amplified by the hollow body. Electric guitars have their sound amplified by electronics through amplifiers (also known as amps). Vibrations from the strings are picked up by pick-ups which convert the vibrations into electrical energy. The energy is then amplified with the amplifier. Fender, Jackson, Dean and Martin are some of the better known guitar manufacturers and should be bought when looking for better quality sounds from your guitar and amplifier.
